Stevenson Mission Statement: to guide the development of a well-rounded human being who has the ability, skills and attitude to contribute positively to self, family, community and society; to prepare the child for responsible life in a free society with the understanding of the need for peace, tolerance, equality and friendship among all people and the desire to leave the world better than they found it. 

 

Philosophy of Stevenson School Library
1. Encourage life long learning with a quality library program for all learners.
2. Provide quality, up to date and relevant resources: print, non print, primary, media, technology and community to support all learners (equity and access of developmentally appropriate curriculum support and enrichment)
3. Empower student voice in library and school wide programs including Library Service club, Green Team and Student Council.
4. Continue to enrich library and school programs by obtaining grants providing literacy, authors, arts, environment, technology resources.
5. Integrate K-5 lessons with interactive white board for library
6. Continue to use School Loop resources
7. Advocate for full time credentialed librarians for every school in SFUSD and for full time library paraprofessional as well as minimum of $20 per student library materials budget.  (to meet basic national school library guidelines)
